<p>The article talks about four major aspects diversity in workplace, personnel management and management of employees. Diversity in workplace is expected to get higher by time, that’s due to increasing international companies that has a multicultural workforce in it. A federal support center promote the diversity (Ivancevich &amp; Gilbert).</p>
<p>Efforts to eliminate discrimination started in late 1960s, many law and legislation has been discussed (Ivancevich &amp; Gilbert). the main reason why it was not liked by some because of the fear that other races controlling high ranks in organizations.</p>
<p>When the laws are affective many things changed there were half business workforces were white and the other half are from other races (Ivancevich &amp; Gilbert). At this point organizations had to have some effective laws so clash wont happen between the workforce and to ensure that everyone works for the greater good of the organization.</p>
<p>Kevin Sullivan apple vice president, said global competition made it necessary for cost cutting he predicted that most companies will make their operations offshore and will sub-contract workforce with law developed countries (Ivancevich &amp; Gilbert).</p>
<p>Finally the article finds that diversity management is very important, researchers should implement some effective research to insure organizations go in right direction in the 21st century.</p>

<p>To have the competitive edge in the modern business organizations have to deal with the learning issue, which most organization don’t even know that they have in the first place (Argyris, p.82, 1998).</p>
<p>Learning is not simply to try and solve a problem, it should be the motivation for managers to look inwards a problem and to find ways to improve efficiency and prevent the problems from arising to the surface from the first place. The employees should not use the circumstances of others to cover their mistakes; they should focus on the real causes of the failure to be able to fix the problem (Argyris, p.89, 1998).</p>
<p>The key of any educational experience is the design to teach senior managers how to reason productively and to connect the program to real business problems and look for the outcomes. A really good demonstration of the effectiveness of productive reasoning is for busy managers to see how it can make a direct difference in their own performance and in that of the organization. It will take time till this change take place, and managers require plenty of opportunity to carry out the new skills (Argyris, p.102, 1998).</p>

<p>Collaboration between companies is very important to ensure comparativeness and to have the edge technologies of collaboration will surly improve the efficiency of many aspects and departments of a company. Organization dynamics is very important to ensure its succuss in the organizations.</p>
<p>The John Deere case is a really impressive case of collaboration between leading companies each on a different activity, it required teams made with members from each company that had the ability to help in producing a solution for the shortage of technicians in the construction industry, I know the second article goes more into details about this collaboration which is really eye opening on how companies collaborate.</p>
<p>It is impractical for inter-organizational collaboration if the significant people from each organization do not have &amp; develop effective collaborative relationships among key people from each organization, if that is not happening the rate of successful collaboration is low. To make this collaboration work the right people should be assigned.</p>
<p>Collaborative work should have a strong meaning, purpose and a plan to achieve what is expected from the collaborative work done. If those aspects are not there it’s more likely that collaborative work will fail. Conflicts are good if they are not personal and for the good of the team.</p>

<p>From mass production to mass customization: enabling perspectives from Swedish mobile telephone industry.</p>
<p>The case study discusses the importance of customization and how it could affect  the manufacturer in a business. In this case the case is talking in reference to a  very big Swedish mobile phones hardware company industry demand. In most cases mass production is easier than customized products this but in terms of efficiency and productivity the case give a very good work related experience that it the company back up they be more efficient.  The people now days aim at what is unique and everyone has his own needs and demands which the companies has to offer otherwise they will lose customers in the long term. It is the right move for companies to have the change to customization as to be more competitive in the field. This case study has helped me understand the value customization for industries and how can they have it without wasting resources.</p>
